Alexander is so busy worrying about the blood, he only realizes the piglet being dead, when the blood stops flowing.

Alexander is kind of sad now. It all went so fast.
A few seconds ago it was still moving, now it's just lying there motionless.
He just killed it. It's dead.
But it's good how it is.

Friedrich has already put his own dead piglet aside by now.

I guess you would like that, too.

Friedrich, sitting next to Alexander now, pulls him towards him, making him lie down on his lap.
Then he holds the knife at his throat.
