SMBZ
====

A Mario/Sonic-style platformer with DBZ-style fighting. Local versus for up to four players,
an arcade ladder against the CPU, training, and a set of landscapes.

Run
---
Linux: ./smbz
Windows: smbz.exe

Two art styles ship in the same binary: vector (smooth shapes) and pixel. Pick one with
`--style vector` or `--style pixel`, or switch any time in Settings > Graphics, or with F9 in the menus.

`--cpu` draws the pixel style without the GPU.

Controls
--------
In game: How to Play walks through every move, and the same screens list the keys and the
gamepad buttons of the device you are using. Settings changes the bindings.

Builds
------
The folder `sheets/` holds the sprite sheets (the fighters, items, tiles and landscapes), and
the folder `maps/` holds the files that say which part of a sheet is which pose. The program
looks for both right next to itself, so keep `sheets/` and `maps/` in the same folder as
`smbz` / `smbz.exe` when you move or unpack it. Without them the game still runs, but it draws
sprites in code instead of the real ones.

The folder `music/` holds the Super Mario Bros. Z tracks the game plays. Keep it next to the
program as well; without it the game plays the chiptune themes it composes itself.
